Taya Valkyrie has announced that she has departed AEW/ROH after declining a contract extension with the company.

Valkyrie has not appeared on AEW television since November 2025 and her last match in ROH came in January 2026.

“I am incredibly grateful for my time with AEW and the opportunity to be part of the organization,” she said in a press release. “While there, I wrestled and worked alongside exceptional talent, and built lasting relationships within the AEW family and deepened my relationships in the wrestling community.”

She also thanked the fans for continuing to support her as she steps into free agency.

“I can’t wait for what’s to come and have a lot more to leave in the ring. With my contract now concluded, I’m excited to explore new opportunities and possibilities as a wrestler, TV personality, and creative,” she continued.

Valkyrie joined AEW in 2023.
