Adam Copeland to retire from in-ring competition in 2027

Adam Copeland revealed last night that he will be retiring next year and 2027 will be the last year where he will be an active wrestler.

The former AEW Tag Team champion made it a point to mention that he wants to be AEW champion before he hangs up his boots one last time, and that chance might come this weekend at WrestleDream.

Copeland defeated Josh Alexander in a Clockwork Carnage qualifier, securing a spot in the eight-man main event match for the championship.

The Rated-R Superstar, now 52, already had a WWE retirement match, defeating Sheamus on Smackdown at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

He joined AEW two months later and has been an integral part of the company ever since.
