Former TE contestant Ivelisse Velez released from WWE

Ivelisse Velez, the former Tough Enough contestant who recently was wrestling under the name of Sofia Cortez in NXT, was released from her developmental contract.

“I, as well, have been released by WWE,” Velez wrote on her Twitter account.

The Puerto Rican native was eliminated from the Tough Enough competition due to an injury sustained to her back, but was signed to a deal anyway in November 2011.

She made several appearances on FCW television before making her debut on the new NXT last month.
