WWE Women’s Championship introduced, replaces the Raw Women’s title

The Raw Women’s title is no more and instead WWE introduced the WWE Women’s Championship last night.

The title is similar to the one that Roman Reigns received last week, with the large black WWE logo on a gold plate and white leather strap.

This now replaces the Raw Women’s title which was held by a Smackdown Superstar as WWE didn’t swap the titles like they did in the last draft. The Raw Women’s title was originally the WWE Women’s title, introduced in April 2016 to replace the Divas title.

The WWE Women’s Championship will retain the lineage of the Raw Women’s title.

A similar swap is expected to happen for the Smackdown Women’s title on Raw.
