WWE women making history once again tonight at Elimination Chamber

A group of WWE women will once again make history tonight by competing in the first-ever women’s Elimination Chamber match in Las Vegas.

These six women – Raw Women’s champion Alexa Bliss, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Mickie James, Sonya Deville, and Mandy Rose – will be stepping in the unforgiving steel structure in hopes of becoming, or in Bliss’ case remaining, a champion and a guaranteed spot on the WrestleMania card.

Since the women’s revolution started, the WWE women have participated in matches that are typically reserved for men. They had a Money In The Bank ladder match, a Hell In A Cell match, ironman match, and even a Royal Rumble match. On several occasions, the women have main evented both Raw and Smackdown and twice main evented a pay-per-view, more recently the Royal Rumble last month.

A constant in these first-ever matches is Sasha Banks. Banks has only missed the Money In The Bank ladder match simply because it was a Smackdown-only pay-per-view. She has entered the Hell In A Cell and competed in a 34-minute iron man match, on both occasions with Charlotte. At the Royal Rumble, she was the longest-lasting woman in the ring, entering #2 and getting eliminated #27, for a total of 54 minutes and 46 seconds.
