WWE title match at SummerSlam now a street fight

The WWE Championship match at SummerSlam has been turned into a street fight following some “complications” during the contract signing segment which closed Smackdown last night.

In the main event segment of Smackdown, John Cena informed Cody Rhodes that he would not be at SummerSlam because of filming obligations and offered to wrestle in either Paris or Perth. Rhodes had none of it though and as the two brawled their way around, Rhodes put Cena through a table, signed the contract, and then grabbed Cena’s hand and signed Cena’s as well.

The challenger then informed the champ that at SummerSlam, it won’t be just a regular match, but the two will go head-to-head in a street fight.

There are rumors of a double turn happening at SummerSlam, which would make things even more interesting as Cody has not been a heel since his return to WWE and is one of the biggest merchandise movers of the company.
