WWE starts on Netflix in India on April 1

WWE is getting a big shot in the arm on Netflix as it was announced that they will officially start on the streaming service in India on April 1.

Raw, Smackdown, NXT, premium live events, and a select number of the WWE video library will be available to stream on Netflix in the country just like everywhere else.

The only downside for this for the company as a business is that India was the second or third largest TV contract for them outside North America and that is now all gone and part of the Netflix $5 billion worldwide deal.

The April 1 start means that fans in India will be able to watch WrestleMania on Netflix.

India has an estimated 12 million subscribers to Netflix and it is India’s largest pure-play subscriber video-on-demand service.
