WWE looking to legalize betting on matches in Colorado and Michigan

CNBC is reporting that WWE has held talks with state gambling regulators in Colorado and Michigan to explore the possibilities of legalized betting on their matches.

The company has engaged the services of Ernst & Young to help convince the regulators on the integrity of their results to explain how they will keep results from leaking to the public.

CNBC said that Ernst & Young has worked with the Academy Awards and the Emmys to keep results secret as betting is allowed on those pre-determined events.

CNBC added that in discussions on how to keep the results secret, WWE proposed that results of matches could be locked in months before and the wrestlers wouldn’t know the result until shortly before the match.

Both WWE and E&Y have refused to comment on the story while the Colorado Division of Gaming told CNBC that they are not considering adding WWE betting for now.

Betting on wrestling events is already available in many countries around the world.
