WWE drops the axe on 14 Superstars as firings continue

Another month, and another round of WWE firings. Constant since April, WWE today released more Superstars in the latest cost-cutting exercise, making 2021 as bloody as 2020 was with cuts related to the coronavirus pandemic.

Announced as being released so far are Fandango, Ariya Daivari, Ever-Rise, Tony Nese, Tyler Breeze, August Grey, Curt Stallion, The Bollywood Boyz, Arturo Ruas, Marina Shafir, Killian Dain, and Tino Sabbatelli.

Fandango, 39, has been part of the WWE system since 2006, starting at Deep South Wrestling, then FCW, NXT, main roster, and eventually back to NXT. His 14-year journey with the company is now unfortunately over and the only title he has won there is the NXT Tag Team title with Tyler Breeze. His last appearance was last week on NXT.

Ariya Daivari, 32, is the brother of producer Shawn Daivari, and has been working for WWE since 2016 mainly on 205 Live.

Tony Nese, 35, is a former WWE Cruiserweight champion and like Daivari, has been part of WWE since 2016 wrestling on 205 Live.

Ever-Rise, the Canadian tag team of Chase Parker and Matt Martel, signed with WWE in 2019 and last wrestled this week on NXT losing to Hit Row.

Breeze, 33, started with WWE in 2010 and was part of FCW before NXT, main roster, and back to NXT. His only title, just like his former tag team partner Fandango, was the NXT Tag Team title.

Killian Dain, 36, joined WWE in 2016 as part of the SAnitY faction. After main roster debut and the breakup of the group, he returned to NXT. He is married to Nikki Cross.

Ruas, 39 years old, started with WWE in 2015. The Lebanese-born Brazilian appeared on a Raw Underground segment once and was drafted to Raw in 2020 before he was sent to NXT again.

Grey has been with WWE for less than a year and was part of 205 Live. His last match was on yesterday’s show.

Curt Stallion, signed in October of last year, was also another 205 Live star. He was recently injured and has not appeared in a while.

Sabbatelli, 37, joined NXT in 2014 but was released in 2020. He rejoined the company later that year but never appeared on television again.

Shafir, 33, is the wife of Roderick Strong and was part of NXT although she was not very active there. She joined in 2018 with Jessamyn Duke and last appeared on a Raw Underground segment in the Summer of last year.

Sunil and Samir Singh, The Bollywood Boyz, have been with WWE since 2016 and after managing Jinder Mahal for two years, they went on their own. They were an integral part of 205 Live. The two brothers have won the 24/7 title nine times between them.

WWE also released Raw creative writer Kenice Mobley days after she went on a podcast and gloated that she had no clue about what went on in WWE before she was hired.
