WWE bringing back Starrcade to the Greensboro Coliseum on November 25

The Greensboro Coliseum is advertising WWE Starrcade for November 25, which so far is a Saturday night non-televised live event.

Starrcade was WCW’s premiere pay-per-view event for 18 long years and the Greensboro Coliseum hosted four of them, including the first one titled A Flair for the Gold. That event had Harley Race vs Ric Flair in a steel cage match for the NWA World Heavyweight title.

In a tribute to that, WWE will also be holding not one, but two steel cage matches on the night at the same venue.

So far the line up includes Jinder Mahal vs Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE title in a steel cage match, Natalya vs Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s title in a steel cage match, AJ Styles vs Baron Corbin vs Rusev in a triple threat for the United States title, The New Day vs The Usos in a Texas Tornado match for the Smackdown Tag Team titles, Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler vs Bobby Roode.

Also scheduled to appear are The Hardy Boyz, Rock ’n’ Roll Express, Ricky Steamboat, and others.

The last Starrcade pay-per-view was held in December 2000 in Washington, DC with Scott Steiner vs Sid Vicious for the WCW in the main event.

It’s not known if this event will be turned into a WWE Network special. The Survivor Series will be held a week before on November 19.

Tickets for Starrcade will be available starting Friday, September 29 at 10AM ET at Ticketmaster.com.
