Two WrestleMania ads to air during NFL Super Bowl

PWInsider.com broke the news that WWE will have two WrestleMania commercials airing during the Super Bowl this Sunday. A later report by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics said that one spot will be a 30-second commercial which will air during the pre-show and the other one will be a 15-second commercial airing during the game.

NBC, this year’s broadcaster, said in a statement last week that it sold out of all its Super Bowl ad spots, with 30-second ads during the game going for a record $7 million each. Considering WWE’s longstanding relationship with NBC Universal and the fact that WrestleMania will air on Peacock, it’s likely that WWE either got a discount or it’s splitting the bill.

The network is estimated to be getting around $500 million in advertising revenue for in-game ads according to CNN Business. The Super Bowl is notorious for having some amazing adverts during the game, some of which go viral.

This is not the first time that WWE has done a Super Bowl commercial. In 1999, the WWE commercial was a big hit among fans which showed Superstars walking through Titan Towers wrecking havoc and ended with one person being thrown off the tower through an open window. WWE’s biggest stars including Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Undertaker, Kane, Mankind, and others were featured.
