Two advance in the Smackdown World Cup, more matches next week

Two men advanced in the Smackdown World Cup last night on Smackdown and two more matches will take place on next week’s broadcast.

Santos Escobar of Legado del Fantasma was the first one to advance in the tournament after he defeated Shinsuke Nakamura while Braun Strowman later defeated Jinder Mahal.

Next week’s Smackdown will have Butch vs Sami Zayn and Ricochet vs Mustafa Ali in the remaining first round matches.

The winner of the Smackdown World Cup will earn an Intercontinental title shot against Gunther.
