The Raw Women’s title match to close the show tonight

Several industry insiders are reporting that the decision was taken late last night for the Raw Women’s title match to go on last tonight, becoming the first ever main event featuring two women.

Everything on WWE.COM, including the main graphic and even match listing, now puts Charlotte and Sasha Banks at the very top, suggesting that it’s a go that the main event will be for the WWE Raw Women’s title. Dave Meltzer of the Observer reported earlier this week that it seems that everyone wanted the women to go last except for the man who makes the final decisions, Vince McMahon.

A few weeks ago Mick Foley announced that the two would be the main event however then everything faded away and WWE started to promote a triple main event with the women, Rusev/Reigns and Owens/Rollins. Foley then wrote on his Facebook that no matter where the women end up on the card, they should feel that they are the main event.

The women have main evented Raw a couple of times over the years as well as NXT Takeover however this is the first time that they are headlining a pay-per-view event.
