The Last Time Is Now tournament kicks off tonight on Raw

Perhaps the most important non-title tournament in professional wrestling kicks off tonight as two first round matches of The Last Time Is Now tournament gets underway in Boston, Massachusetts.

The tournament will determine John Cena’s final opponent on December 13 at Saturday Night’s Main Event, a coveted spot many of whom would like to be in.

While the pool of opponents is huge, only 16 will have a crack of standing across the ring from Cena on his final night as an active professional wrestling, and 15 of them will come out empty handed.

Kicking things off tonight will be Sheamus vs Shinsuke Nakamura and Damian Priest vs Rusev. The tournament continues on Smackdown this Friday with The Miz vs Jey Uso and LA Knight vs a surprise opponent, an opponent who does not work for WWE.

More matches in the tournament are expected to be announced this week and the tournament then continues next Monday on Raw live from Madison Square Garden which will also be John Cena’s final Raw.
