The Great Khali gone from WWE

Former World Heavyweight champion The Great Khali is gone from WWE according to several sources. The big man’s contract expired recently and WWE opted not to renew it.

The former police officer in the Punjab state police signed with WWE in 2006, becoming the first Indian professional wrestler signed by WWE. He made his debut on an episode of Smackdown in April of that year, attacking the Undertaker.

During his six year WWE career, Khali won the World Heavyweight title once – his only title there – after winning a 20-man battle royal for the title during an episode of Smackdown in July 2007.

His reign as a monster, with feuds against Cena, Batista, Triple H, and other big names, came to an end in 2008 when he started doing more comedy stuff.
