SummerSlam 2013 drives PPV numbers down in third quarter

The three WWE pay-per-views that took place in the third quarter of 2013 didn’t fare that well, especially SummerSlam, which is considered one of the big four WWE pay-per-views of the year.

Money In The Bank in July did 199,000 buys, an increase from the 188,000 the show did last year. SummerSlam was down considerably to 296,000 buys from 358,000 buys that the 2012 version did, and Night of Champions also did less than last year’s show with 175,000 versus the 189,000 buys from last year.
