Stephanie McMahon reveals Metallica was scheduled to perform live at WrestleMania 36

WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon revealed on Ad Age Remotely that the legendary band Metallica was supposed to perform live at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, and be part of The Undertaker’s entrance.

“The Boneyard match was like a 20-minute movie sequence and it was cut to Metallica cause Metallica was going to be a part of WrestleMania. Their music was going to be a part of Undertaker’s entrance,” McMahon said.

Metallica was still part of The Boneyard match and The Undertaker used the song Now That We’re Dead while he rode in. McMahon noted that when all plans changed, Metallica told WWE that they still want to be involved in the match and would not be backing out. “We were very grateful to Metallica for helping score the entire sequence,” she said.
