A major title change took place last night at the NXT television tapings at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. This particular episode will air next week on July 25 on the WWE Network as the road to NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV continues.

There’s a new NXT champion in town as Tommaso Ciampa defeated Alistair Black to capture his first solo NXT title. Johnny Gargano interfered in the match, taking out both Ciampa and Black with the NXT title but Ciampa recovered first, hit the Angel’s Wings on Black to become the new champion.

In an episode which will air later on the WWE Network, NXT General Manager William Regal returned on TV and made the main event for NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV…a triple threat for the NXT title between Ciampa, Gargano, and Black.
