Shinsuke Nakamura returned to NXT last night in an unadvertised appearance, showing up as Tony D’Angelo’s mystery pick to take on Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo.

Dressed in a yellow and black outfit, the colors of the old NXT, the former NXT champion won his match with the Kinshasa. This was Nakamura’s first match in nearly two months, having last appeared on WWE television during the September 2 episode of Smackdown where he beat Baron Corbin.

Coincidentally enough, Corbin also made his first appearance this week on Raw since that Smackdown episode.

Nakamura recently traveled to Japan to attend the funeral of NJPW founder and WWE Hall of Famer Antonio Inoki.
