Sami Zayn wins the WWE United States title

A new United States champion was crowned last night in Lyon, France as Sami Zayn defeated Solo Sikoa during the main event of Smackdown to win his first U.S. title.

The match had the interference from MFT but Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu came out to help Zayn, eventually brawling through the stands and disappearing from the screen.

There were a couple of very close pinfalls from Zayn but Sikoa kicked out at the last millisecond, however, Sikoa could not kick out after two Helluva Kicks, sending the French crowd into frenzy.

This puts Zayn one title away from becoming a WWE Grand Slam champion, with a heavyweight title still being elusive.
