Royal Rumble 2021 to take place on January 31

The 2021 Royal Rumble will be taking place on January 31 and while no location was announced, it’s highly likely it will take place from the ThunderDome inside Tropicana Field.

WWE had been working on trying to get some fans inside the building for the Rumble although at this point nothing has been announced. The last time there were fans to watch WWE programming – apart from NXT – was the March 9 episode of Monday Night Raw which was held in Washington, DC.

A fan-less Royal Rumble has never been done and usually the crowd plays a major part in the show, especially when it comes to the counting down of the timer.

The winners of the two Royal Rumble matches will get a title shot at WrestleMania 37, which is supposed to take place from the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. An announcement about WrestleMania is also scheduled to take place early next year as the show is probably moving from there and going to Tampa.
