The United States title will become vacant next week as Rey Mysterio will be relinquishing the title due to an injury.

Mysterio won the title from Samoa Joe at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view but in a controversial fashion as one of Joe’s shoulders was not on the mat when the referee hit the three-count.

Now, Mysterio will be on Raw next week to surrender the title as he will be on the sidelines due to the shoulder injury he suffered in the quick match. Mysterio was a touch-and-go for his match at WrestleMania against Joe due to a leg injury and that match, won by Joe, was also a very quick one.
