Olympic gold medalist Erica Wiebe checks out the WWE Performance Center

WWE.COM is reporting that Olympic gold medalist Erica Wiebe was at the WWE Performance Center today to get “an up-close look at what life in WWE is all about” and train with the NXT stars.

Wiebe, who won the gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics in the 75kg freestyle wrestling for Canada, was also ringside for the Mae Young Classic finale in Las Vegas on Tuesday night. Wiebe is also attending the NXT television tapings tonight. WWE talent scouts saw her at the Rio Olympic Games last year and have been trying to get her ever since.
She was invited to the state-of-the-art training facility by WWE in hopes of luring her to the company and make the transition to professional wrestling.

The 28-year-old who trains and lives in Calgary holds degrees in kinesiology and sociology from the University of Calgary and is also an athlete ambassador for Fast and Female, a not-for-profit organization that promotes women empowerment through sports.
