NXT pays tribute to Volkoff and Christopher at show in Phoenix

The NXT non-televised show in Phoenix paid tribute to both Nikolai Volkoff and Brian Christopher last night.

A 10-bell salute was held in honor of the two departed as their photos flashed on the big screen for fans in attendance. WWE is expected to tackle both their deaths tonight on Raw and Smackdown tomorrow.

Volkoff passed away at age 70 just days after he was dismissed from hospital while Christopher was pronounced brain dead and later taken off life support after he took his own life in his jail cell.

Several wrestlers both who are part of WWE and otherwise also paid tribute to the two on social media yesterday. Both Volkoff and Christopher shot up in their Google ranks yesterday following their death. Mainstream media also picked up the separate stories with CNN even covering it on their front page.
