NXT Championship officially declared vacant

The NXT Championship is officially vacant.

WWE announced yesterday that following his successful title defense at New Year’s Evil against TNA’s Leon Slater, Oba Femi has surrendered the title.

Femi is moving up to the main roster and the company took the “Asuka route,” having him relinquish the title on the way out rather than put someone over.

How a new NXT champion will be decided has not been announced yet.

Femi is expected on the main roster imminently and could be part of the WWE tour of Europe which kicks off today.
