Nine NXT and developmental stars released from WWE

WWE released a total of nine NXT and developmental stars yesterday according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful and Cory Hays of Bodyslam, with Wes Lee and Stevie Turner being the most high-profile names.

Joining Lee and Turner are developmental talent Leigh Laurel, Haze Jameson, Summer Sorrell, Brayden “BJ” Ray, Drake Morreaux, and Jamar Hampton.

Lance Anoa’i, who has been signed with the company for a year but never actually made it on television due to injuries, was also released. He is the son of Samu.

Lee has not been used on television since late July and was part of The High Ryze faction. Turner was the resident “prime minister” on EVOLVE and previously was the assistant of Ava on NXT.

Ray, Sorrell, Morreaux, Laurel, and Jameson were part of the WWE LFG reality series.
