Crown Jewel: Perth pick’em report

Hello Everybody! It’s @TheMagnumDA with another installment of the Pick’em report.

This month, we’re all the way down under in Perth, Australia for CROWN JEWEL – tonight, we’re going to determine the Women’s and Men’s Crown Jewel Champions, and we’re also going to determine who will walk out with the WOPC Championship – Colin has had a stranglehold on the title since SummerSlam, but we’re going to see if he can hold on to that title when he faces off with yours truly!

Confidence Pool Pick’em style – at the time of post, we have five major matches on this show. We’ll score 5 points for the match we’re most confident about…and 1 point for the pick we’re least confident about.

Who will walk out with the championship after Crown Jewel? Let’s find out right now.

ON WITH THE PICKS!

John Cena vs. AJ Styles

Colin: It’s great we get to see this one final time. Styles got the best out of Cena a few times when they wrestled, and while I am not expecting a classic, this should still be one hell of a match. Cena needs one more to reach 100 wins at PPVs/PLEs and an AJ loss wouldn’t be catastrophic for him anyway, so give me Cena with four points.

Magnum: Boy, am I glad that the brass are listening. This was a match the fans wanted as part of John Cena’s retirement tour, and I’m looking forward to it, as well. I was there at Royal Rumble 2017 – Cena vs. Styles was one of the greatest title bouts I’ve ever seen live. Will they turn it on and turn it up one more time? I’m thinking so. Give me John Cena to win this final encounter. Five points for the pick.

Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky vs. The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane)

Colin: KARIIIIIIII! I love Asuka screaming Kairi’s name LOL! Peeps are gonna be mad if Ripley loses here but for some reason, I’m thinking this will be a Kabuki Warriors win. They would benefit more if they win and maybe add some spice to Ripley vs Sky in the future. Undecided, but I’m going to pick Asuka and Kairi here with one point.

Magnum: This has been an incredibly captivating feud – Asuka is quickly positioning herself as one of the top heels in the company – she is completely overbearing, she’s abusive, and she’s getting quite a bit of heat with this change in attitude. Look for the hometown kid Ripley to shine in this match – I hope this isn’t the place where Iyo turns on Rhea. For now, I’ll take Ripley and Sky to win this matchup. Four points for the pick.

Australian Street Fight
Roman Reigns vs. Bronson Reed

Colin: What’s the difference between an Australian street and a New York street fight or a Chicago street fight? They should just name these with a simple name, like street fight. It works, right? Anyway, I think Reed will get his “WrestleMania moment” here in front of his own crowd. He already jobbed to Reigns in Paris, it makes zero sense to lose again. Plus a street fight loss means there could be a ton of interference so…TSUNAMIIIIIII! Reed wins, with two points.

Magnum: An Aussie Street Fight, eh? As a stupid American who loves his stereotypes, I say there better be a boomerang involved. Or a didgeridoo. Either way, this is actually a tough call because Roman’s really been working hard to make Big Bronson Reed look like a main event player. The question is…will Roman put Reed over the top in his own home country? As proven in their previous matchup, Reed doesn’t necessarily need to pin Roman to do something that will get him over. I think this is probably the end of their feud before War Games, so I’ll go ahead and take Roman to win, but I’m only going to put one point on it – it’s very possible that Reed could get the biggest win of his entire career at this show.

Women’s WWE Crown Jewel Championship
Stephanie Vaquer (Raw’s Women’s World Champion) vs. Tiffany Stratton (SmackDown’s WWE Women’s Champion)

Colin: Stratton has not been pinned in 2025 so far and this is not for her title. Vaquer needs a big statement win, and this could be it. Should be a great match and yes, I’m ready for the Devil’s Kiss on Tiffy! Okay okay, I will settle down. This is going to be La Primera’s time. Vaquer wins, three points.

Magnum: Here’s another challenging pick! Having said that, I’ve started to notice a certain trend when it comes to the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship…whoever wins the match usually ends up losing their World Championship first. If I had to pick between who was going to have a longer title reign from this point on, I would roll with Vaquer. So following that logic, I will go ahead and say that it’s Tiffy Time! I’m picking Stratton to win the Crown Jewel Championship, but I’m only putting two points on it.

WWE Crown Jewel Championship
Cody Rhodes (SmackDown’s Undisputed WWE Champion) vs. Seth Rollins (Raw’s World Heavyweight Champion)

Colin: If there’s one match that Rollins has not been able to win for the past few years is a big one against Cody Rhodes. He’s been on the short end of the stick three times already…and then helped Cody win the WWE title. Go figure! I think it’s time for Rollins to pick up a victory against QB1 and somehow, someway, he’s going to get that today! Seth wins with five points.

Magnum: If everything plays out as planned, and we get the War Games match we’re expecting (rumored to be some kind of combination involving Punk/Roman/Uso/Fatu/Knight vs. Rollins/Reed/Breakker/Lesnar/Theory), then I would expect The Vision to get a huge boost in this matchup. It’s possible that Lesnar and/or Theory help Rollins win this match. Either way, I think we’ll find out Cody’s next challenger at Survivor Series, seeing as though he’s not in the plans for War Games. Tonight belongs to The Vision, and more specifically…The Visionary. I’ll take Seth Freakin’ Rollins to win, and I’ll put three points on it.

Okay everyone, that’s going to do it for us at the Pick’em report! Thanks for checking us out at Wrestling-Online. We look forward to seeing you next month for the Survivor Series and WAR GAMES! Plenty of fun to come in November – see you then! @TheMagnumDA signing off.
