Nikki Bella returns at SummerSlam after 10 months out

After 10 months sidelined with a neck injury and a career-threatening neck surgery that followed, Nikki Bella returned to the ring last night at SummerSlam to team up with Natalya and Alexa Bliss, replacing Eva Marie.

Nikki got great news in June from her doctor telling her that she can resume wrestling training and just a week or so ago she was cleared to return by WWE medical.

“Couldn’t do it without my #BellaArmy. Its been quite a journey. I can’t even express In words how I feel right now,” Nikki wrote on a post on Instagram. “Dr Uribe helped me make the impossible possible and when people told me no don’t do it I couldn’t wait to show them that I can! I did it! I may be filled with metal lol but I never gave up, I never will! Forever Fearless!”

Eva Marie was supposed to be the partner for Natalya and Bliss but a Wellness Program violation meant that she would be suspended for the next 30 days, opening the door for Nikki to make her surprise return.
