New Orleans to host WrestleMania 34

New Orleans is getting the biggest pay-per-view of the year again as WWE has selected the city to host WrestleMania 34 next year.

The news was broken by ProWrestlingSheet.com and later confirmed by other sources. The last time WWE held WrestleMania in New Orleans was three years ago, where Daniel Bryan won the WWE World Heavyweight title. That night was also a memorable one, with the opening segment featuring Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, and The Rock, and it was also the scene of the end of the Undertaker’s streak.

It’s very rare that WrestleMania goes back to a city so quickly after it had already hosted a previous WrestleMania, but New Orleans was a major hit with traveling fans due to the party atmosphere.

An announcement will be held very soon and a press conference is expected next Monday when Raw will be in New Orleans.

The Mercedes-Benz Superdome, which hosted 75,167 fans for WrestleMania XXX, will obviously be the site for WrestleMania while the Smoothie King Center will host the Hall of Fame, Raw, Smackdown, and NXT.
