Muhammad Ali to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2024

WWE today announced that boxing legend Muhammad Ali will be posthumously inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2024. The news was originally broken by Variety in an exclusive story.

The three-time World Heavyweight Boxing Champion and Olympic gold medalist was part of the WrestleMania festivities in 1984 where he was assigned the role of special outside referee for the main event tag team match between Hulk Hogan and Mr T against Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff.

Ali also was in a fight against another WWE Hall of Famer, the late Antonio Inoki, in an event titled The War of the Worlds in June 1976 in Japan.

Ali passed away on June 3, 2016 at the age of 74.

He joins Paul Heyman, Bull Nakano, and the U.S. Express as this year’s inductees so far.
