Mason Rook was supposed to get an NXT title shot last night on The CW but was not medically cleared to compete.

NXT General Manager Robert Stone said that Rook was out for the foreseeable future, although no details on what is keeping him out of the ring were ever divulged.

“I’m sorry. Sometimes life is cruel,” Rook wrote on X. “Every fibre of my being wanted to compete tonight but unfortunately it is out of my control.” He added that he promises that this was just a speed bump and not a roadblock.

Grayson Waller still had his hands full on the show though, defending the NXT title against EK Prosper. The 24-year-old was unable to take the title away from the Aussie star despite a valiant effort.
