Majority of furloughed WWE employees expected to return to work by end of year

WWE is anticipating that nearly all the employees that were furloughed in April and May will be returning to work by the end of the year.

The company furloughed roughly 25% of its workforce when the coronavirus pandemic hit, affecting everyone from office workers to backstage producers, live event staff, and Superstars. The move was highly criticized as the company is in great financial position and could have easily supported all the workers without having a massive hit.

WWE Chief Financial Officer Kristina Salen said that due to the majority of them returning to work, the company will have incremental expenses of up to $45 million when adding the cost of running and creating the ThunderDome, Capitol Wrestling Center, and employees returning to work.
