Las Vegas is once again the frontrunner to host WrestleMania next year and if it happens, the city would become only the second one ever to get to host back-to-back WrestleManias.
A report on NOLA.COM stated that it was WWE who pulled the plug on New Orleans and the plan is to return to Sin City in 2026.
“After the success of this year’s event, the new leadership running WWE decided that they would rather hold next year’s event in Las Vegas and see what response they get from fans, according to an industry official who wasn’t authorized to be quoted by name,” the report said.
WWE informed the city on Thursday about that decision, according to New Orleans & Co. chief Walt Ledger, leaving a big hole in the city’s hospitality calendar.
According to multiple sources, WWE has already put in a hold for Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19 with Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, although there are logistics that need to be ironed out first, especially since there’s an unannounced concert taking place a few days before WrestleMania which would make the building of the stage a very hard task to accomplish.
