Kofi Kingston out with ankle injury

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Kofi Kingston is suffering from an ankle injury and will be out for the next five weeks.

Due to his injury, he won’t be participating in tonight’s fatal five-way match featuring also LA Knight, Karrion Kross, Sheamus, and Drew McIntyre. Instead, Xavier Woods will be taking his place in this match where the winner will get an Intercontinental title shot at WrestleMania 39 against Gunther.

Meltzer adds that at this point, no surgery is required so Kingston could be back in action in theory next month. Unfortunately for him, he will be missing WrestleMania.
