Johnny Gargano returned on Monday Night Raw and came out to save his former tag team partner Tommaso Ciampa after the main event.

After Ciampa lost his Intercontinental title match against Gunther, Imperium teamed up to beat up on the former NXT champion. But as Kaiser and Vinci hammered away, Gargano’s music hit the speakers and he came sprinting out, taking out Imperium with super kicks.

As Ciampa recovered and Vinci stayed in the ring, the former DIY tag team set up the Imperium member for their Meeting in the Middle finishing move but Raw went off the air before the two connected.

Gargano has been off television since May and just recently returned to the non-televised live events.

Ciampa and Gargano share a very long history together and are often friends and sometimes bigger enemies.
