John Cena taken off the Crown Jewel pay-per-view

John Cena has been taken off the Crown Jewel pay-per-view and replaced by Bobby Lashley.

The news was delivered on Monday Night Raw yesterday in an angle involving Baron Corbin who said that Cena never qualified for the World Cup tournament so he would be replaced.

The real story is that Cena did not want to be part of the show following the murder of the Washing Post columnist inside the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul, Turkey.

Daniel Bryan has also voiced his concern and wanted out of the show but so far he is still listed to take on AJ Styles for the WWE title. The picture will be clearer after Smackdown Live tonight.

Cena has obviously more pull in the company than Daniel Bryan and he is in a position where he can refuse to work some shows if he doesn’t feel comfortable.
