John Cena made amends with the young kid from Brussels last night on Smackdown.
On a Raw episode from Belgium back in April, John Cena ripped on the crowd for being in a toxic relationship with him for 25 years, and a kid with John Cena gear was highlighted on the screen.
“Everybody, including that kid right there, is a toxic dysfunctional relationship,” Cena said at the time, drawing boos from the crowd.
But last night, with the kid in attendance, John Cena said sorry.
“When you’re having a bad day, you say some stuff that’s hurtful to a person, they know you’re just having a bad day and they give you a pass because it’s all love and it’s all good,” Cena told Logan Paul during an in-ring promo battle.
“And respect, Logan Paul. Respect is the ability that the next time you see that person…the next time you see that person, it’s to say ‘I’m sorry I was having a bad day and thank you for being there for me when I most needed you.'”
Cena went back up the aisle to find the kid among the crowd, who was super excited and whipped out his phone to have a selfie with the 17-time champ.
Cena waited and then said, “Yo, hey. I’m sorry. I’m sorry I was having a bad day. Thank you so much for being there for me when I needed you most.”
The kid said “I love you,” to which Cena replied, “I love you too, man.”
