Nikki Bella finally got what she wanted last night at WrestleMania – a wedding proposal from her man, John Cena. Cena and Nikki flew to New York and were part of the NBC’s TODAY show this morning to discuss the proposal.

Cena said that he’s been through a lot of surgeries and Nicole was always there by his side. He always gives her the chance to ask him anything she wants during that 20 minutes when the anesthetic kicks in, and you’re able to talk but eventually don’t remember anything.

So when Nikki underwent her surgery, he did the same, but this time the roles were flipped and told her that someday he’s going to marry her. Nikki said she doesn’t remember anything and bugged him for a year to tell him what he said, but he always said he’d reveal it when the time is right.

When asked if there were anyone else who knew about the proposal officially, he said since this was a big production, there was one other person in the loop, but did not reveal who that is. He said it was once in a lifetime thing to tag with his partner at WrestleMania so it was the perfect scenario.

Cena also discussed being surprised that his mother was there. His mom, who lives in Boston, hates traveling and has never been to a WrestleMania before. His mom surprised him and he only found out when he came down the ramp and saw her ringside.

The former 16-time World champion said that he found the absolute right person to be with and he can certainly see babies in the future. “It took a person that strong to change my view on life,” Cena said of Nikki.

When asked if there’s any particular date yet, Cena said “it’s up to the boss,” and no, he wasn’t referring to Vince McMahon, but to Nikki! No date is set, although Nikki said she’s ready to get this party started right now!

Oh yeah, and no, their wedding will not be in a wrestling ring. We all know how those end up!
