John Cena and Cody Rhodes to appear on next week’s NXT episode on Wednesday

WWE is loading up next week’s episode of NXT which due to the mid-term elections, will air on Wednesday, November 4 in a direct head-to-head with AEW’s Dynamite Blood & Guts episode.

Former WWE champion Cody Rhodes will be appearing on the show to present the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic cup to the winners of the tournament. The final will pit Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno taking on Hank and Tank.

Plus, the one and only John Cena will make a rare NXT appearance as well just 48 hours after appearing on Raw. Cena will be on Raw to announce the full details of the John Cena Classic and it’s likely that the 17-time world champion will be in Orlando to extend his invitation to NXT stars.

The last time AEW and NXT went head-to-head in early October, NXT did not bring any main roster stars or went the extra mile but it looks like this time, they are trying to beat AEW on its own day.

NXT last aired on Wednesday two years ago, also due to the election coverage, and NXT actually beat Dynamite with 619,000 viewers and 0.17 rating in 18-49 to AEW’s 523,000 viewers and 0.16 rating in 18-49.

This year, the numbers will probably skew in favor of AEW due to the Blood & Guts matches although both shows will take a hit in viewership.
