Jerry Lawler undergoes angioplasty procedure in Montreal

Jerry Lawler underwent surgery very early in the morning in Montreal to unclog his arteries according to his former wife and former WWE Diva Stacy “The Kat” Carter.

“He had a stint [stent] & a balloon put in. Right now he is still heavily sedated. Will update when I know more,” she wrote on Twitter a few hours ago.

The procedure performed is called angioplasty, where an empty and collapsed balloon on a guide wire is passed through the arteries and then inflated to clear the way. The stent is inserted to make sure that the vessels remain open after the balloon is deflated and taken out.

Last night, his current girlfriend Lauryn McBride, posted a note on her Facebook page saying that Lawler was in a stable condition and she was catching the first flight out to be with him.

“He is a strong man and we will get him back at his best as soon as I can get him home,” she wrote.
