James Storm reveals planned post-WrestleMania WWE debut

In an interview with ProWrestlingSheet.com, former TNA champion James Storm revealed that he was supposed to debut for WWE after WrestleMania 36 but the coronavirus pandemic has put everything on hold.

Storm, who had a short stint in NXT back in 2015 before returning to Impact Wrestling, said that originally WWE contacted him during the Royal Rumble weekend but he missed the e-mail as he was doing stuff for the NWA but was ready for Mania week.

The 43-year-old told Ryan Satin that he did all the physical exams and purchased new gear, agreed on all the terms with WWE and signed the deal.

But when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, WWE hit the brakes on Storm and he was told it’s not going to happen for now. Storm said the last time he had a talk with WWE was in July. “You just take it and keep rolling,” he said. “It’s not their fault. It’s just how everything is right now.”

Storm hopes that he will still get the call down the line and hopefully reunite with his old tag team partner Robert Roode.
