Inaugural Women’s Intercontinental champion to be crowned tonight on Raw

The inaugural WWE Women’s Intercontinental champion will be crowned tonight live on Raw.

A tournament kicked off on December 2 with four, triple-threat matches to determine who will advance to the semi final matches which were held on December 30.

Finalist Dakota Kai defeated Katana Chance and Shayna Baszler in the first round and then beat Zoey Stark in the semi final while Lyra Valkyria defeated Zelina Vega and Ivy Nile in the first round and Iyo Sky in the semi final.

Other competitors in the tournament included Raquel Rodriguez, Kayden Carter, Alba Fyre, and Natalya.

The new Women’s Intercontinental title is exactly as the men’s version but with a white strap instead.

The title was introduced as the mid-card championship similar to the Women’s United States title over at Smackdown.
