Gunther vs Nick Aldis officially announced for SummerSlam 2026

Triple H announced during the SummerSlam Kickoff party at Fanatics Fest that Gunther will be taking on Nick Aldis at SummerSlam.

Both Gunther and Aldis got physical at the event and required several officials to keep them away from each other.

The Smackdown General Manager interfered in last night’s main event match, striking Gunther with the WWE Championship, costing him and Zayn the match. Gunther ended up taking the pin after Punk delivered a GTS immediately following the title shot to the head and Cody covered for the win.

“We’re going to settle this in the ring…at #SummerSlam,” Triple H wrote on X later, adding the poster of the match as well.

The two have been feuding for quite a few weeks now and this will be Aldis’ first match inside a WWE ring – ever. Last week, Gunther choked out Aldis on Smackdown, leaving him unconscious.

The former TNA and NWA champion has not wrestled since October 2023.
