Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet.com is reporting that Finn Balor will be taking some time off from WWE next month, most likely after SummerSlam.

Apart from when he was out with shoulder injury after winning the Universal title at SummerSlam a few years back, Balor has pretty much wrestled full-time with WWE going back to his NXT days. Satin adds that the request for time off was for two months, a request which has been granted by the company.

At a recent conference call, WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon stated that WWE Superstars can ask for an extended time off. “Anybody who wants time off can get time off,” McMahon said. Superstars such as Sasha Banks, Rusev, and Lana have not been seen on television for a couple of months although they remain part of the roster.

The former NXT champion lost the Intercontinental title at SummerSlam to Shinsuke Nakamura during the Kickoff show.
