Ezekiel Jackson leaves WWE

Ezekiel Jackson announced on his Instagram account that his contract expired yesterday, on WrestleMania Sunday, and it wasn’t renewed.

“In my time in the #WWE I became the last #ECW Champion and a one time Intercontinental Champion… I’ve also traveled the world given the opportunity to do what I love. Encountering some of the most passionate and reliable fans in the world,” Jackson wrote.

He thanked Vince McMahon and the company for allowing him to live out his childhood dream and said he is looking forward for the next chapter in his life.

The 35 year old started with the WWE in 2008 after signing a developmental contract a year earlier. His string of injuries pretty much halted his WWE career in the past couple of years so his departure isn’t much of a surprise.
