“Every day’s been a dream,” says CM Punk on WWE return

CM Punk spent an extra day in Utah after he won the WWE World Heavyweight title to watch an NHL game between the home team of Utah Mammoth taking on the Tampa Bay Lightning.

During the intermission, Punk was interviewed by Nick Olczyk for the Hockey Night Utah broadcast.

Punk, a hockey fan himself, said that he gets to enjoy his day off watching hockey and said that he and this sport have a love affair, mentioning that he is a regular at the United Center to watch the Chicago Blackhawks play.

Asked what it has been like since returning to WWE two years ago, Punk said that every day has been a dream.

“Every day’s gratitude. Obviously, I love hockey so much I kind of draw the parallels between my wrestling career and hockey and I’m the old guy in the room now,” Punk said. “I’m just happy I get to lace up my skates and have the privilege to be able to walk the locker room and the halls with a lot of talented young stars and seeing all the fans, all the places I’ve been all around the world multiple times, getting to revisit stuff and see the young and the old all love wrestling. It’s great. It’s been a dream.”

Punk will return to Raw tonight as the new WWE World Heavyweight champion.
