Edge returning at the 2021 Royal Rumble

WWE Hall of Famer Edge announced in a video on Raw last night that he is entering this year’s Royal Rumble match.

Edge has been out injured since June 2020 after he tore his triceps during his long match against Randy Orton which was promoted as the Greatest Wrestling Match Ever at Backlash.

The former WWE champion said that the stakes are even higher this time around as the more he waits, his window of opportunity decreases and the only way to main event WrestleMania is by winning the over-the-top rope Rumble match.

Edge returned as a surprise entrant last year in the Rumble match, sending thousands of WWE fans into delirium as soon as his music hit. It was his first time wrestling since he retired in 2011. He has now vowed to take back the title he had to surrender a week after WrestleMania 27.
