Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic returning on NXT TV

The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is returning to NXT television and started at last night’s tapings at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.

The tournament was created last year to honor the late, great WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, who passed away a few months earlier. NXT kicked off a 16-tag tournament and the matches were taped during NXT television and non-televised live events. The semifinals and final took place at NXT Takeover: Respect with Samoa Joe and Finn Balor defeating Baron Corbin and Rhyno to win the tournament.

Dusty’s family, including Cody and Dustin Runnels, presented the trophy to the winners.

The winners of this year’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will be crowned at the next NXT Takeover in Toronto, on November 19.
