Cora Jade returns, has cute backstage interaction with CM Punk

Cora Jade returned to NXT last night at Deadline, her first appearance on NXT television in five months.

Jade’s first order of business was to attack the NXT Women’s champion Lyra Valkyria. After Blair Davenport won the Iron Survivor Challenge match, Valkyria came out for a stare down but Cora Jade came out from behind for the ambush. She posed with the NXT Women’s title and then dumped the title on Valkyria.

Jade last appeared in a loss to Dana Brooke in a kendo stick match on an episode of NXT on USA Network.

On a much nicer note, there’s a video on the Internet of a very young Cora Jade interacting with CM Punk and backstage on the show in a WWE Digital Exclusive, CM Punk showed up during a Jade interview to congratulate her and offer some words of encouragement. A visibly star-struck Jade listened attentively and then told him he was going to make her cry.
