Cody Rhodes returns on Smackdown, challenges Drew McIntyre at Wrestlepalooza

The American Nightmare returned yesterday on Smackdown after over a month out and challenged Drew McIntyre to a match at Wrestlepalooza.

Rhodes came out after McIntyre defeated Randy Orton in the main event of the show, which saw McIntyre continued his attack post-match. Before McIntyre kicked Orton into the commentary booth like he did to Cody last month, Cody’s theme hit the speakers and out ran the champion.

The two brawled in the ring and Cody hit the Cody Cutter on McIntyre before the Scotsman retreated. Cody then grabbed the mic and told him the champ is back and they can dance at Wrestlepalooza.

Cody was out filming Street Fighter in Queensland, Australia which is why he was absent from WWE television for over a month. Cody also missed the birth of his second daughter due to his filming commitments.
